Getting Started

When we onboard you to any of SoftwareOne’s Cloud Managed Services, we will run an Onboarding Project to complete the following high level tasks:

  1. Configuring Access: Here we clarify the scope of your environment that you want to onboard and work with you to configure secure access for our tooling and our support engineers

  2. Service Descriptions and Operations Definitions: We provide a detailed view of how the Service works, sharing best practice and then we collect any bespoke configuration requirements you may have for your services

  3. Tooling Created and Configured: We configure our tooling to meet your requirements and defined in your “Operations definition”.

  4. Service Deployment: We work with you to show you how to deploy your chosen Services into your environment.

  5. Pre-Flight Check: We run some internal checks and get your approval to close the onboarding project and move to daily Operations.

Due to the ultra-dynamic nature of Cloud based resources, with the potential of them changing frequently during the the onboarding project, the scoping of the project can not be aligned to specific, named, resources.

Instead we take the approach of integrating our automations and processes which cater for such highly dynamic systems, and show you how to use them.

During the project, if you enable a Service against a resource, that resource is immediately considered live and our teams will respond to any events on that system accordingly. The Project then become focused on showing you how to roll a Service across your environment at the speed that suits your business.

Once you’re happy with that process, and are comfortable with applying to any of your resources going forward, we can close the project and you are free to move your resources into our daily operations as you create them.

The Onboarding Project is delivered across the following stages:
